Find Dade County Booking Photos

Dade County jail mugshots are not currently posted through a public sheriff roster. The official jail page has a current-inmate heading, but no live roster or booking-photo gallery was available during research. Dade County booking photos should be treated as a records-request issue, with Georgia booking-photo law, open-records limits, and custody status all affecting what can be released or displayed.

Dade County Jail Mugshots Overview

The official Dade sheriff website did not publish a public mugshot gallery, recent-bookings gallery, or live roster profile with booking photos during the research pass. The sheriff's jail resources page said the "Current List of Inmates" was "Info coming soon." The official Dade Daily Booking Activity Report sample also did not show photographs.

Booking-photo questions belong with the Dade County Sheriff's Office led by Sheriff Ray Cross, not commercial mugshot publishers. Start with the jail resources page, the sheriff open-records page, and the Dade Sheriff's Divisions page.

That means readers should not expect a Dade County Jail mugshot to appear online by default. The proper path is to check the official jail page, call the jail, and submit a sheriff open-records request when a booking photograph is needed and releasable.

The absence of an online photo gallery is a local fact, not a sign that no booking photo was taken. It means the public web source does not provide a photo interface. The release decision can depend on the record requested, Georgia law, the case status, and any exemption or restriction the sheriff's office applies.

Where to Find Dade County Booking Photos

Start with the official Dade County inmate and jail resources page because it is where a roster would logically appear if the sheriff activates one.

The page confirms the current limitation: it provides jail contacts and inmate-service vendors, but not public booking photos.

  1. Check the official jail page for any update to the current inmate list.
  2. Call Dade County Jail at 706-657-2277 and ask whether the photo exists and whether it is releasable.
  3. Email a sheriff open-records request to Info@dadesheriff.com with the person's name and booking date if known.
  4. Use the county open-records form if Dade County directs the request through the county open-records officer.
  5. For state-prison photos after sentencing, use GDC Find an Offender; for BOP or ICE, do not expect a local jail-style mugshot display.

What a Dade County Booking Record Shows Instead

The official daily booking report sample is useful because it shows booking data without photos. That makes it a better model for Dade's documented public record than a generic mugshot gallery.

Are Dade County Jail Mugshots Public Record?

Georgia open-records law generally covers public records, including photographs maintained by agencies, unless an exemption applies. Booking photographs have an additional Georgia-specific rule. O.C.G.A. Section 35-1-19 defines booking photographs and restricts law-enforcement website posting and release conditions, which is one reason this page does not promise an online mugshot gallery.

Key Statutes:

O.C.G.A. Section 50-18-70 et seq. - Georgia public records are generally open unless a statutory exemption applies.

O.C.G.A. Section 35-1-19 - Georgia's booking-photograph law governs booking photos and limits law-enforcement website posting and certain release practices.

How Long a Mugshot Stays on the Roster

No Dade roster retention period was located because no public photo roster was live. The sheriff page does not state whether booking photos would remain online only while a person is in custody, for a set number of hours after release, or not at all.

What is and isn't public: Dade's official web materials document jail contacts and service vendors, not an online mugshot feed. A booking photograph may require a records request and may be withheld or limited under Georgia law.

How to Request a Dade County Booking Photo

The sheriff-specific open-records instruction is to email the Dade County Sheriff's Office at Info@dadesheriff.com. Identify the person, approximate arrest or booking date, and the record requested. Dade's open-records form requires requester contact details, signature, date, and a description of the records. It also warns that fees can apply, the first 15 minutes are free, ordinary pages are generally $0.10 unless law provides otherwise, estimates over $25 require notice and confirmation, and estimates over $500 may require advance payment.

A narrow request is usually more useful than asking for every record about a person. Include the full name, date of birth if known, date of arrest or booking, and whether the request is for the booking photograph, the booking sheet, a jail report, or a release record. If the record is not held by the sheriff, the county may route the request to another custodian.

The Dade open-records page explains the county and sheriff routing.

Use the open-records page when the jail cannot answer a booking-photo or archived booking-record question by phone.

Mugshot Removal and Sealed Records

If a photo appears on a private commercial site, do not treat that site as the official Dade record. Georgia's booking-photo law was designed partly around commercial posting and removal practices. For government records, ask the Sheriff's Office whether record restriction, dismissal, or another court result affects public release. For court-side record restriction, start with court records after a jail arrest and the Clerk or counsel.

Federal and State Booking Photos

GDC is different from Dade County Jail. The Georgia Department of Corrections says offender photographs, if available, display automatically in its locator. BOP and ICE locators are not Dade mugshot galleries and should be used only for federal sentenced custody or immigration detention.

A GDC photo is tied to state corrections custody and may appear after sentencing or transfer. A BOP locator result is for federal custody from 1982 to present and does not operate as a county booking-photo record. ICE ODLS is for immigration detention location, not a public booking-photo feed.

VINELink is also different. It can help with custody and release notifications where Georgia data is available, but it should not be described as a mugshot source or as the official Dade County booking-photo record.

The GDC offender query form includes photo display options for state offender search results.
